Happy Holidays

It seems that the pace of Christmas picks up speed around this time. For those of us in the retail industry we've been in the thick of Christmas since Halloween but for the rest of the population it seems to come out of nowhere and suddenly there isn't enough time in the day!

Here at Phillip Van Leeuwen we are preparing for a celebration of our own...a full scale renovation! As a leader in contemporary furniture for over 40 years it's important that our showroom stay ahead of the pack and continue to inspire and delight. We will be closing February 1st 2010 for a few weeks to give us the opportunity to rip, tear and put back together. For us this means a dynamic new place to work but for you it means Renovation Sale!

In this issue you'll find all the details about our Annual Boxing Day Event, a timely article about decorating for the holidays; Beyond Red & Green and some mouthwatering holiday recipes. In the season of giving you'll find the winners of our E-Newsletter subscribers draw and as always our New Arrivals, check out the glamorous glass coffee tables.

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you for your business and your support over the last year. From our PVL family to yours we wish you all the best that the season has to offer!

Sincerely,

Jennifer Cross
Marketing Director

Beyond Red & Green

This season tends to bring out the very best and the worst in the field of design. It's a season that brings out the hidden decorator in most of us, for many it might be the only decorating project that we participate in all year. This excitement can lead to excess and total abandon of your current style.

Over the last few years the decorating theme for the holidays has had a major overhaul, gone are the days of red and green or bust. Now you'll find decorations in every colour to work with our more modern colour schemes. This is the time of year that we entertain more than any other and we want our home to look its absolute best. Putting some thought into your holiday decorating will help keep consistency and show off your space to rave reviews.

Here you will find some of the new holiday schemes that are easily available. If you are a fan of modern design (like we are) staying with a monochromatic scheme will suit you best. Monochromatic doesn't have to mean all white or beige (as it's often associated), it can mean varying shades of any one colour. This year freshen up your decorations with a colour family that compliments the design of your home . One last tip...don't forget to take them down!  I know poinsettias last forever but if it's still sitting on your coffee table at Valentines' Day then you are definitely on the naughty list!
